Exterior
Design
The
Mercedes-Benz S-Class has only one requirement, and that is elegance above all
else. You won't find the aggressive lines, massively flared wheel arches, or
oversized grilles here. Instead, you'll get an evolution of stately elegance in
the form of chrome-trimmed grille and window accents, and signature LED
lighting on both the headlights and taillights. The new S-Class also features a
wider stance than previous models, helping give it a more imposing road
presence without being overbearing.
Interior
Design
The cabin
of the newest S-Class model features several refinements as well, with a
floating center stack design that allows the flow-through dash to continue from
the driver's side to the passenger door. In fact, this design element even
flows onto the doors, encompassing the window and seat controls to create a
truly cohesive cabin experience. When you get behind the wheel of the 2022
Mercedes-Benz S-Class, it's less like driving a car and more like taking a seat
in your favorite lounger, surrounded by ambient lighting and with a widescreen
view of the world ahead.
Performance
With
several engine options to choose from, including hybrid variants that add both
power and efficiency, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is even bringing tech to
what you'll find under the hood. A combined 429 horsepower and 384 pound-feet
of torque are standard fare in this new executive luxury sedan, while uprated
models get a twin-turbo V8 and electric motor setup that combine for 496
horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. All of this is controlled by the
legendary Mercedes-Benz 4MATIC all-wheel drive system to give you added
confidence at every turn.
Technology
We could
talk about the tech features of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz S-Class all day, but the
highlight is certainly the augmented reality heads up display. You'll get the
typical speed and road sign information, sure. But you'll also get extra help with
navigation with pop-up arrows and road sign readouts that help you match your
instructions with the world around you for a complete navigation experience
that will never leave you wondering where your road actually is.
Safety
Of course,
driver assistance has gotten a boost as well, with semi-autonomous features
that read road markings, signs, and the vehicles around you to help with nearly
every driving scenario. From hands-free driving on the highway with automatic lane
changes to automatic emergency braking in the city, the new S-Class is always
there to help.
