Behind the Scenes of a Mercedes-Benz 230 SL Photoshoot

Amy Shore enjoys the beauty of a well-designed car, but recognizes that a car is nothing without its person. It’s a notion that resonates with Mercedes-Benz.

Mercedes-Benz designs each car around the human who will someday occupy the driver’s seat. Everything is designed for the driver, from throttle response to safety features.

The 230 SL Pagoda, featured in this video, was manufactured from 1963 to 1967 in the Mercedes-Benz W 113 line. The 230 SL was designed to fill a gap in the market, replacing the too-expensive 300 SL and the not-powerful-enough 190 SL. Mercedes-Benz felt a need from drivers and worked to fulfill it.

The Mercedes-Benz W 113 series was the first line of sports cars to use a safety body. Mercedes-Benz has since innovated, engineered, and transformed further safety features to include PRE-SAFE® technology and ATTENTION ASSIST®. Along with driver assistance and protection, the Mercedes me system allows you unprecedented connectivity to your Mercedes-Benz vehicle.
